Position – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Rate – Circa £50.00 per hour OR PAYE equivalent (DOE)

Hours – Typically 38 hours per week
Determination – Inside IR35
Security – UK SC / CTC Security Clearance to be in place

Job Purpose;
FRTAG provide Fuel Route first line support for planned preventative maintenance and emergent work thus ensuring that all planned work week activities are completed to schedule. They also author and implement engineering modifications and project manage various cross functional activities.
Key Responsibilities;
To have a nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken.
Use “Conduct of Maintenance” and HU fundamentals as the basis for day to day working practices.
To assume responsibility for interacting with other site organisations to drive reliability improvements.
Take an active role to ensure that activities support safe and reliable operation of the plant and maintain full compliance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations.
Ensuring that activities are carried out and completed with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures and safety rules.
Working with others to satisfy business objectives within agreed quality management arrangements.
Ensure maximum contribution towards achieving business need. Undertaking and supporting training and development activities to extend skills and abilities of self and others.
Behave in accordance with EDF Energy competences for team members and leaders.
Responsible person for control and supervision of maintenance for license compliance.
Responsible for implementing changes arising from changes to legislation.
First point of contact for technical issues.
Author/verify of engineering changes to support emergent and improvement maintenance activities.
Provide support to EDF Maintenance team to engineer work requests.
Lead trouble shooting for complex defects.
Assist in the investigation of reportable occurrences or significant operating events e.g. CAP, OE etc.
Support engineering department with maintenance issues.
Provide technical specification for emergent spares issues.
Produce and advise on Task Briefs and impact statements
Provide operational advice and support to operations department when requested.
Proactively use operational experience to promote learning within the organisation.
21. Support FR Outage to achieve the outage plan targets where required.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills;
Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline (preferred).
APMP ( Preferred)
Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution (C.Eng.) (Preferred).
Nuclear and conventional plant and system experience.
A wide range of experience in mechanical fault finding and rectification.
Appropriate safety rules authorisations. ( Preferred)
Appropriate “Management of Work” authorisations. ( Preferred)
Appropriate contract and project management authorisations ( Preferred)
IOSH Managing Safely
OR
HNC/HND in an appropriate Engineering discipline where augmented with specific experience.
APMP ( Preferred)
Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution (I.Eng) (preferred).
Nuclear and conventional plant and system experience.
A wide range of experience in mechanical fault finding and rectification.
Appropriate safety rules authorisations. ( Preferred)
