Across site (both Faslane and Coulport) and working both on site and from home can’t be as specific to say half and half as it depends on the workload. Need to be flexible.
Purpose;
Responsible for implementing all Electrical non-nuclear safety implicated (Non NSI) services design requests for HMNB Clyde in line with Naval Base Design Department (NBDD) Quality Documentation. To conduct Asset Surveying activities across NSI and NNSI equipment/buildings and infrastructure.
Key Results Areas;
Assist the Senior Electrical Design Engineer in maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of all the section’s resource.
Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
Implementation of the HMNB Clyde’s Company Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental policies in the Facility Design section ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
Provider of conceptual and detailed Electrical and Building Services Engineering designs across HMNB Clyde for Naval Base Projects, Facility Managers and in house customers.
Supporting other Naval Base and Depot Organisations (FM’s, MOD DIO, NBP etc) with respect to reviewing and approving Design Proposals, Contract Specification Documents to ensure compatibility with Statutory, JSP and Depot Standards.
Provides support on Base wide/Depot wide projects in accordance with programme requirements. Directing and controlling design engineers in design process of all conceptual and detailed designs.
Provides support on Base wide and Depot wide projects in accordance with agreed delivery dates or service level agreements with MOD DIO Projects.
Attending all technical and organisational meetings on behalf of Babcock Marine associated with issues affecting Non NSI base wide design aspects and performing the design authority role for Electrical services at HMNB Clyde.
Conduct the ongoing surveying and inspection of assets across NSI and NNSI equipment/buildings and infrastructure throughout the whole of HMNB Clyde in line with MoD Defence Estates asset grading methodology.
Illustrative Dimensions;
Completion of designs in support of Babcock delivered In-house Projects.
Provision of design support for Naval Base Projects in accordance with new works programme to a value of £5m+.
Provision of design support for major PSP projects to a value of £200m+.
Liaising with other stakeholders to provide technical solutions in line with budgetary priorities and requirements whilst still maintaining high levels of quality and completing works in accordance with project deadlines.
Technical input to allow for decisions to be made when procuring new equipment with respect to statement of requirements and budgetary constraints.
Completing technical solutions in line with budgetary priorities and requirements ensuring high levels of quality and completing works in accordance with projected deadlines.
