Position – Electrical Design Engineer
Type – Contract
Rate – Circa £40.00 per hour Umbrella Company or PAYE equivalent
Location – Clyde / Coulport / Remote, UK
Hours – Typically 37.5 hours per week
Determination – Inside IR35
Security – UK SC / BPSS Security Clearance Required to be in place
Start Date – ASAP ?
Duration – 12 Months +

Responsible for implementing all Electrical non-nuclear safety implicated (Non NSI) services design requests for HMNB Clyde in line with Naval Base Design Department (NBDD) Quality Documentation. To conduct Asset Surveying activities across NSI and NNSI equipment/buildings and infrastructure.   
Key Results Areas;

Illustrative Dimensions;

Completion of designs in support of client delivered In-house Projects. 

Provision of design support for Naval Base Projects in accordance with new works programme to a value of £5m+.

Provision of design support for major PSP projects to a value of £200m+.

Liaising with other stakeholders to provide technical solutions in line with budgetary priorities and requirements whilst still maintaining high levels of quality and completing works in accordance with project deadlines.

Technical input to allow for decisions to be made when procuring new equipment with respect to statement of requirements and budgetary constraints.

Completing technical solutions in line with budgetary priorities and requirements ensuring high levels of quality and completing works in accordance with projected deadlines.

circa 87,000 level 4 assets across 120,000 level 2&3 systems.

Apply logical thinking to resolve conflicting operational priorities and any limitations arising.

Review and updating of documentation and participation in extensive discussions covering many disciplines and specialist subject matters with respect to solving challenging Electrical Design related problems.

Analysis of situations, events or processes to identify shortfalls and weaknesses in working practices. 

Develop and implement recommendations to address shortfalls and work with the Section’s management in delivering change and continuous improvement.

Decision Making;
Solutions, advice and decisions are given as requested with respect to Electrical Design activities.

Largely unsupervised with a high degree of autonomy to resolve conflicts.

Identify and engage with key stakeholders to ensure risks are minimised, and highlighted where appropriate.
