One of our automotive clients, based in Crewe, are recruiting for a Aero-Acoustics Technical Manager to join them on a contract basis for 8-months. This role will support all aspects of the development process from planning, simulation, testing, and development of aero-acoustics.
The successful Technical Manager will be responsible for:
• Project activity planning for aero-acoustic attribute and delivery to project gateways
• Definition of new project activities, resource and development requirements
• Development of new processes and simulation technique/methodology to improve upfront influencing of body surface/style and to enhance Whole Vehicle – Acoustics capability and competence
• Management of Attribute development, concerns investigation and countermeasure development and design influencing
• Technical management of the Aero-acoustic attribute including attribute delivery road map definition, physical development testing, aero-acoustic simulation – integration with Aerodynamics for simulation model build, meshing and aero buck development
• Technical management of the NVH simulator masking noise decomposition (e.g. aero-acoustic and road noise masking)
• Setting and delivery of subjective and objective aero-acoustic attribute targets, definition of system acoustic targets, performing relevant objective and subjective acoustic assessments of systems
• Technical management of engineers to delivery attribute/project activities
The successful Technical Manager will need:
• Ability and experience to lead the attribute development process from concept to launch
• Experience in acoustic data acquisition and analysis techniques
• Aero-Acoustic simulation experience
• Subjective evaluation skills, jury evaluation studies
• Product Development experience
• Experience of body, body hardware, sealing system, glazing etc technical specifications and design critic for aero-acoustic performance delivery
