Client – UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) / Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) 
Day Rate – Up to £425 per day INSIDE IR35 (Umbrella)
Length – Until June 2024 (2.5 years contract)
Location – Swindon office 3 days a week (hybrid role)
Security Clearance – BPSS security clearance which the client will provide

Description:

Developing and delivering an internal communication strategy in line with legislation and departmental policies. Working closely with key stakeholders, ensuring that colleagues are aware and engaged with corporate initiatives. Managing a range of internal communications channels. Managing key internal staff events. Developing new and innovative ways of communicating departmental changes and developments to staff members. Organising internal departmental events and functions. General up keep of intranet site. Ensuring staff distribution lists are kept up to date.
Knowledge and Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Communications Lead or a similar role
  • Experience of working on a major programme across multiple sites in a large corporation or government body
  • Relevant degree, e.g. Communications, Marketing, Journalism (or equivalent) and/or significant work experience 
  • Presentation skills as you will be face and voice of the programme
  • Creativity, knowledge and methods
  • Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques
  • Very organised, with outstanding planning skills and robust attention to detail and the desire to get deliverables right first time
  • A positive can-do attitude, blended with a very approachable personality
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills and experience
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write communications that are both interesting and easy to understand
  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to quickly gain rapport and build successful working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to create creative content that will engage target audiences, using a variety of media and available channels
  • Results orientated with an ability to evaluate and report effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and work to demanding deadlines
