Job Title: Cost Modeller

Job Description:

• Engage with Technical and requirements teams to ensure costs, risks and dependencies are fully aligned with Managed Exit requirements
• Source underlying evidence to validate costs within the model to the satisfaction of the validator
• Produce cost model and associated evidence in support of IUS Managed Exit Review Note 2
• Produce Investment Appraisal in support of Managed Exit Review Note 2
• Provide input to the IUS Managed Exit negotiations and procurement documentation as required
• Support the development of approvals documentation for Managed Exit, including generation of artefacts in support of IUS Managed Exit Review Note 2
• Support stakeholder briefings with CAAS, DefEcon, ARB, IAC as necessary

Essential/Desirable skills:

Essential –

• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft excel to enable development of cost models to satisfy JSP 507/655 and satisfy Verification scrutiny
• Experience of Investment Appraisals, Business Cases and Cost Benefit Analysis
• Knowledge of statistics to support parametric modelling, sampling and risk assessment
• Experience in methods of cost estimating including comparative and parametric techniques in support of hardware and software systems and through life support
• Experience in creating independent cost estimates for development, manufacture, support, overheads, profit, GFA, and estimating maturity levels
• Cost/Schedule Risk Analysis – knowledge of quantitative assessment of uncertainty, cost and schedule risk assessment
• Logical and analytical thinking to solve problems
• Trusted and works well in a team
• Good written and presentation skills
• Dependable, committed and enthusiastic, contributing to the growth of the business
• Educated to degree level
• Security Cleared to SC Level

Desirable –

• Member of a professional body (finance, accounting, cost modelling, cost estimating)
• Experience as a cost management consultant in public sector environment
• Experience of @Risk (or similar)
