We are seeking an experienced software engineer to lead on the development of software packages which provide ancillary capabilities to the organisation’s automatic number plate reading solutions. As a software engineer, you will need to be adaptable to work with both Java, Python and frameworks such as Selenium. The successful candidate will join an innovative team and shall take a hands on role in the development of new capabilities. In addition to project work, there are exciting opportunities to develop proof of concepts in the areas of mobile apps, machine learning, big data and low latency queuing to explore how these technologies can help advance our product suite.
You will be working with a small but motivated team of developers, integration and support engineers to support existing software applications and develop new components. Reporting to the lead solution architect, you’ll be given the responsibility to manage your own work with a significant amount of autonomy. The role can be based out of our Southampton, Basildon or Bristol offices with the opportunity for regular home working (e.g. Friday’s). To help the distributed project team communicate and share knowledge, we regularly get together in London for team meetings.
