Electronic Design Engineer, Chester, up to £55,000

My client specialises in the design of world-class solutions to serve three principal markets on a global scale; SCADA, Integrated Security and Mobilising. They are currently seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join their team, designing and developing the next generation embedded products in both the SCADA and Security Business Units.

This is what you’ll be doing

Working as part of a team and utilising a wide range of exciting technologies, you will develop new products, systems and features.

  • Leading the production of innovative designs that fulfil challenging user and performance requirements.
  • Using technical best practice to overcome problems and product requirement challenges.
  • Ensuring that all designs comply with the appropriate international standards.
  • Working closely with purchasing and production to ensure good design principles are adopted to mitigate supply chain dependencies. 
  • Supporting third parties involved in the design, prototype and production.
  • Ensuring designs are fully tested and documented to company design processes.
  • Providing detailed work breakdown for team tasks.
  • Working with the Company’s adaptive development methodology to deliver systems that exceed customer expectations and achieve the highest quality.
  • Timely identification and communication of technical issues and risks.
  • Your skill set will include elements of the following

  • Design of Power Electronics Systems.
  • Circuit Modelling and Simulation, SPICE, WEBENCH etc.
  • High-speed digital, analogue, optical electronics design.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics design for embedded systems, microcontrollers and SoC application processors and DSPs.
  • Design of high accuracy AC/DC measurement systems.
  • PCB design – CADStar ideally but other CAD packages also considered. 
  • Ethernet Networked product design.
  • EMC testing and approvals.
  • FPGA, CPLD, VHDL/Verilog.
  • Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of SCADA or Industrial Controls.
  • Knowledge of IIOT.
  • Knowledge in Electrical Systems and Power Distribution Networks.
  • Solidworks.
  • Fibre Optics
